With one image you can present your work on a full page. I need up to three artworks (jpg files). The book has the character of a beautiful gift book with art and lyrical poems. It will be bilingual (English as the first language plus German): EXAMPLE (sample book) Or scroll in the other volumes here – most upper menu ART BOOKS!

Once again, famous cultural sites will be highlighted and their attention drawn to the book.

Explanation on the subject: ‘Spanish Rhapsody’ – Dance and Movement
(In honor to Miguel de Cervantes and the Spanish Music)

We are taking the anniversary of Miguel de Cervantes as an opportunity to present this book and introduce other prominent artists who had a strong connection to Spain (Ravel, Bizet, Debussy, Picasso, Dalí – including Franz Liszt and Emmanuel Chabrier). The volume is accompanied by verses by Federico García Lorca.

Based on the following overview, you are invited to interpret our “Spanish Rhapsody” of art in a broad and free manner, even without focusing specifically on Spain or “Don Quixote.”

On the occasion of Cervantes’ 480th birthday, the book project also explores the theme of “dance and movement.” We present his world-famous work “Don Quixote,” leaving the interpretation of the novel open to individual interpretation. Like the Greek rhapsodes, Don Quixote was always on the move. Today, a rhapsody is understood as a musical work that is not bound to any specific form and is based on several ideas. Dalí, among other things, created illustrations for a Don Quixote edition. Picasso also depicted the two heroes of the satirical chivalric tale and was captivated by flamenco. Spanish dances have frequently been incorporated into classical music: for example, Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero,” Bizet’s Carmen, and, inspired by concert tours, Franz Liszt’s and Emmanuel Chabrier’s orchestral rhapsodies. Claude Debussy drew inspiration from visual imagery for his composition “Iberia.” Federico García Lorca inspired a reciprocal exchange between poetry and dance.

Included in the fee:

• A printed art gift book will be published, with your page and one selected artwork, indicating your website address (if desired). The book is printed in hardcover and softcover.
• Participation in the contest for up to 11 book design awards.
• Providing the book with the specific PR content and design: a short descriptive statement (a bilingual slogan written by us for each artwork), an entertaining foreword and poems, selected by the editor.
• The artist receives the simple right of use of the book (worldwide) for an unlimited period of time.

1. REGISTRATION, PAYMENT, AWARDS (See PART 1 of our Rules!)

a) I need your address (decisive for your payment) and your current website address (if there).

The pictures can be sent a few months later (see the deadline for the pictures in our invitation or on our website: CALL ARTISTS).

b) Please rename your jpg images with the following file name (or at least 1, 2, 3):
(your first and last name number country – without comma!)

Example:
Pablo Picasso 1 France.jpg
etc.

If you order more pages, please send us more images!

c) Please rank the artworks according to your preference! Artwork information should be exactly in the following format:

First and Last name Number of the picture, Country, Title, Year, Technique, Size in cm
(example: Pablo Picasso 1 France, Portrait, 2013, oil on Canvas, 80 x 100 cm)

You can send up to 3 artworks (an image of each piece to be sent as a jpg file of approx. 3,000 to 4,000 KB), out of which will be selected one. One side of the image file must be 20 cm long by 300 dpi.

2. ABOUT THE BOOK (See PART 2 of the Rules!)

The bilingual book will be printed in soft and hardcover (21 x 21 cm). Artists can buy copies of the printed book at any time at a reduced author price. No compulsory purchase! Please see in detail the Author’s Price section in the PART 2 of the Rules! Regarding distribution please click on the links included! Since we as editors are not booksellers, we generally do not send out free copies.

3. COPYRIGHT (See PART 3 of the Rules!)

By paying the fee, the artist acquires the right to use the book as specified in a special contract, which comes into force when it is signed by the artist. The copyright and other rights of artwork use remain with the artist. The works are, therefore, freely available to the artist!
